In October 2025, the Hong Kong Musculoskeletal Health Foundation (HKMSHF) partnered with orthopaedic associations, academic institutions, and medical experts to support World Bone & Joint Action Week — a global initiative that raises awareness of five key musculoskeletal health themes: World Arthritis Day, World Spine Day, World Trauma Day, World Paediatric Bone & Joint Day, and World Osteoporosis Day.
Throughout the month, HKMSHF in collaboration with The Hong Kong Orthopaedic Association and The Hong Kong College of Orthopaedic Surgeons – Public Information Service co-organised eight free public health seminars across Hong Kong, alongside a range of community education activities promoting disease prevention, early detection, and healthy lifestyles. Covering conditions such as arthritis, osteoporosis, spinal disorders, and paediatric bone health, these events provided practical, evidence-based knowledge tailored for people of different ages and backgrounds.
The Foundation actively fosters collaboration between the medical community and the wider public, making reliable orthopaedic health information more accessible. Each event also featured expert Q&A sessions and myth-busting discussions, helping participants better understand how to care for their muscle, bone, and joint health.
Through this year’s Action Week, the Foundation further strengthened connections between healthcare professionals and the community, promoting public awareness of musculoskeletal health and encouraging a culture of proactive self-care. These efforts continue to create a lasting and positive impact across Hong Kong society.
