Who are Orthopaedic Specialists?

Orthopaedic specialists, or orthopaedic surgeons, are doctors who diagnose, treat, prevent and help patients recover from injuries, disorders and conditions affecting the musculoskeletal system – including bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, nerves and tendons. Many specialise in specific regions, such as the foot and ankle, hand, shoulder and elbow, spine, hip or knee, or in fields like children’s orthopaedics, trauma, joint reconstruction, bone tumours or sports medicine.
